Cats UTI

Feline UTIs

Urinary tract infections can strike cats just as frequently as dogs and can lead to more serious complications like Idiopathic Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease. The symptoms are similar to what you would see in a dog with a UTI and, much like with dogs, you can test your cat at home for a simple UTI when you are between veterinarian visits to help you catch the infection early. Feline UTIs are generally caused by bacteria, but can also have other causes.

Left untreated, simple UTIs can progress into much larger problems in both cats and dogs. A simple UTI can turn into a more complicated (and more difficult to treat) UTI or it can progress into your pet's kidneys, potentially causing kidney failure and much pain and suffering for the animal.
