Once you collect a blood sample, just send it into the laboratory. You will receive your results fast and be on your way to better controlling your diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association recommends that all adults over the age of 45 be tested for diabetes. Among those most at risk are overweight people over 40 who do not exercise, African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, and those with a family history of diabetes.
At TestCountry we offer the most accurate, affordable and reliable diabetes tests available.
Our HbA1c (hemoglobin A1c) Blood Test is a laboratory procedure that measures the total amount of hemoglobin A1c in your blood. Comparing the results of your initial HbA1c test to the results of subsequent tests can determine the progress you've made in properly managing your diabetes. Periodic hemoglobin A1c testing gives you and your health care professional the most accurate picture of your overall diabetes control. By lowering your HbA1c number (or keeping it low) you can help avoid the risk of serious diabetes problems affecting the eyes, kidneys, and nerves
How Does the Hemoglobin A1c Test Work?
The specimen collection process is quick and virtually painless. Using the special finger lancet, which is included in the Blood Collection Kit, a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of the finger, placed on a small collection card, and sent to a CLIA Certified Laboratory for analysis. The kit tests your blood sample to see how much HbA1c is present and then reports the results in an easy-to-read, understandable form. Since hemoglobin A1c testing produces a numerical result rather than a simple "yes" or "no" answer, both testing approval and professional interpretation of test results is required by a licensed health care professional. After your test analysis is completed, the results will be reviewed by a licensed physician before being sent back to you.
