Urinary Tract Infection Test Sticks (2 ct.)
Is the burning or urinary frequency from a urinary tract infection? Check your urine at home to see if you have an infection (UTI).
You may detect a urine infection before symptoms are present or before those symptoms become too painful. The test can also be used to make sure your urine infection is cleared up after a course of antibiotics.
Urinary tract infections are caused when bacteria adhere to the walls of the bladder, kidney or the opening of the urethra and then multiply.
UTI Test Sticks are rapid and qualitative in detecting an imbalance of both nitrites and protein to provide faster and more accurate results compared to other leading brands.
False positive results can be due to high levels of substances in the urine such as Vitamin C, UTI Relief tablets containing pyridium or certain antibiotics. False negative results (up to 30%) are possible because of infection by bacteria that do not reduce nitrates . If the test is positive, there is about a 90% chance of a urinary tract infection as measured by a urinalysis and bacterial culture in a doctor's office. While this method of testing is not perfect with respect to urinary culture in a laboratory, it is quite useful for most women with recurrent UTIs, indwelling urinary catheters, paralysis or sexually active.
