1. Request a sample collection kit where you can store some drinking water supply.
2. Carefully read the directions inside the kit since the procedure can vary from one home to another.
3. Remove home water screens or filter systems.
4. Heat the tip of the faucet with a torch or lighter until it gets hot.
5. For about 5 minutes, let the cold water run in your faucet.
6. Lift the bottle cap without touching the insides of the container. Fill the bottle with water and leave about a half-inch for air.
7. Place the bottle inside the Styrofoam container.
8. Completely fill out the info sheet and send it back to the laboratory. Make sure to include the legal description, time, and the sampling date.
9. Wait for the water test interpretation or result in about 2 weeks.
