This Lab-Aid Food Nutrient Analysis kit uses pure samples of the nutrients in order to standardize the tests. Students work in teams to test for and identify five classes of nutrients, such as sugar, starch, lipid, protein and Vitamin C.
Once the tests have been completed and the students’ observations have been made, they are then asked to draw conclusions about their results, the control variable and samples that showed no reaction. This is a great school science learning kit to demonstrate scientific methods, practices and processes.
It is necessary to have a hot water bath available for the test of simple sugars. Unlike the other variation of this food analysis, this food nutrient kit has an indefinite shelf-life.
